Accreditations & Qualifications
We are very proud of our industry leading accreditations and high quality qualifications.
Please check out the logos below for an overview of each one.
We have attained the leading arboricultural certification in the UK from the industry body, the Arb Association, with only around 300 companies in the UK holding this.
We are regularly assessed for our health and safety procedures, office and business practices, customer care, as well as our quality of tree work.
This mark is a level of assurance that you are going to receive a top quality service from start to finish.
We are signed up to the TrustMark scheme which is the Government Endorsed Quality program that covers work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home.
When a consumer chooses a TrustMark Registered Business, they are engaging with an organisation that has been thoroughly vetted to meet required standards and has made a commitment to good customer service.
All of our team are highly trained in all aspects of tree care, machinery and health and safety. Most of our certificates come from NPTC and LANTRA awarding bodies which show high levels of competency in a range of skills, techniques and machinery usage.
Our Founder, Mike Finch is a qualified examiner for NPTC/City in Guilds qualifications. He has to maintain a high standard of up to date knowledge and skills in all aspects of the industry, which is passed down to the Finch team in staff update training sessions and onsite spot checks.
Our team holds a selection of academic qualifications in arboriculture, wildlife conservation and teaching which complements our land based skills.
All of our onsite team hold International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) qualifications which allows us to prioritise safe access to heights using access platforms for efficient and complex tasks.
Rarely seen in our industry, our onsite team hold CSCS cards which shows that they have undergone health and safety training and validation of their training and qualifications, ensuring swift integration onto construction sites.
We hold site manager, site supervisor and skilled worker cards allowing us to fully setup and manage a site or task from top to bottom.
Our Arb Approved Contractor status is a fully SSIP approved member scheme. This means the scheme is compliant with laid out rules on occupational health and safety management.
This means we don’t also have to be CHAS or Constructionline members as well as we already meet the same criteria but with another member.
Our Arb Approved Contractor status also meets ISO 9001 standards, which is a globally recognized standard for quality management. It helps organizations of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance, meet customer expectations and demonstrate their commitment to quality. Its requirements define how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve a quality management system (QMS).
Implementing ISO 9001 means our organization has put in place effective processes and trained staff to deliver flawless products or services time after time.
All of our public facing staff are cleared under a Enhanced DBS check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. This gives our clients peace of mind that our staff are cleared to work around children or adults in certain circumstances such as those in receipt of healthcare or personal care.
This is vitally important for our clients where we work in schools, care homes, hospitals and military sites.
Finch is committed to the safe removal and disposal of waste and is a Registered Waste Carrier with the Environmental Agency for an upper tier waste carrier, broker and dealer.
Most of the arisings from our activities is reused as valuable products and the rest is recycled where possible.
We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses which is an organisation that helps support small companies. The network with other local companies to support each other and provide advice and help. The organisation also helps us stay up to date with legislation and policies.
